Designed for children ages three to about six (65-pound maximum weight per passenger), the Power Wheels Jeep Hurricane looks just like a real Jeep! And it operates with a real steering wheel and a foot pedal. Powered by a rechargeable 12-volt battery, the Jeep can drive up to five miles per hour. The car is designed to travel at a max of 2.5 MPH at first, when your child is a beginning driver. When he or she becomes more experienced, just remove the safety mechanism to reach maximum speed! The vehicle also features a specially designed safety braking system, which automatically stops the vehicle when the foot is removed from the pedal. The jeep can also go in reverse at up to 2.5 MPH. The jeep includes features such as a simulated navigation system, cool sound effects, a digital clock, and a working "fuel gauge" that monitors battery level. Ride in Style!
The jeep features lots of cool details that will have your child riding in style. He or she can pop some juice in the cup holder, turn up the real, working FM radio, and drive off to exciting adventures! There's room for a friend in the passenger seat, too (up to 65 pounds). The Jeep Hurricane also features the Power Wheels Ultimate Terrain Traction. With this advanced tire package, the truck can "off-road" into areas that others can't handle: It can drive over thick, wet grass, muddy areas, gravel, and other small backyard obstacles such as tree roots and garden hoses. This vehicle requires a 12-volt rechargeable battery designed specifically for this toy, which is included with your purchase, as well as a battery charger. My almost 5 year old son loves driving his Jeep all over the neighborhood. Because of the better handling and wheel design (not slanted), the Jeep is remarkably agile. What my kid has done so far:
- Taken the Jeep off road on bike trails
- Drive through iced dirt
- Drive through 1/2" mud
- Drive through 1/4" water puddles
- Pull passengers on a tied on Wagon (We almost died laughing)
I agree with the previous reviewer that the car is a bit big for a sub 3 year old, but my younger one (2.5) loves being the passenger.

| Great fun, easy for the kids to learn to operate. For maximum enjoyment you will want to purchase an extra battery due to recharge time of 14-18 hours. For those of you with independent minded kiddos beware, my little guy (3.5) talks frequently about leaving me at home and taking his "Little Jeep" wherever he wants to go. |

| This purchase was made for my 3 year old son at Christmas. It took some warming up to but once he got the hang of it look out. It did not take him long to figure out how to stop so we've had very few collisions, thank goodness. After he's had it awhile we even dared to put it into high. Well that just made it more fun then before. And of course he managed to find the only mud hole in the yard and makes a point to drive through it every time. We've had no problems with safety and he's even learned forward, backward, right turn and left turn from the sounds the jeep makes. This is sure to supply fun for years to come. My only comment is to allow plenty of time for putting it together. Not difficult just time consuming. |

Best purchase ever, not just the product but the response from Mattel/Fisher Price. Our jeep had a cracked seat when it arrived so I called the 800 348 0751 and expressed the issue and with absolutely no Heee-Hawin around a new seat is on its way. I later noticed that the key was no where to be found and again called that 800# and just as quick as I finished a new one was on its way. I am not use to such quick response from ANY company. Customer Friendly should be added to all their products. Oh, I spoke with a live person as well so as you can tell I'm living is SHOCK CITY. As far as the Jeeps performance so far so good and I look forward to many years of service out of this baby.
I'll update later on the actual performance as my lil guy get use to it. |

| Santa brought this truck to our three year old for Christmas and he couldn't be happier. He can work the controls and drive it very well and it's a great way to get him outside. My favorite feature is the real radio! Great toy! |
